If I completely misread the question, and you just wanted to know how long the process of releasign one egg takes, there is a much simpler answer: it only takes a couple hours for the ovum to travel through the fallopian tubes, and the "fertile phase" consists of the few days (let's say, 4) BEFORE ovulation. The oocyte (egg) degenerates after 24 hours in the uterus if it has not been fertilized. Although the womb is a harsh place for anything but a fetus, sperm can survive for several days in there, thus, women are most fertile just before ovulation.
Numbers given are a bit pessimistic here's from the Down's Society page

No, not normally.
Generally about 2 weeks (14 days). This does vary with each person, however.
No; a woman will not ovulate if she is pregnant.
There is no magical fast way to do this just focus on when about 5 days before you ovulate and when you ovulate.
to be honest with u its possible but i dont no u would have to ask a woman that question
Yes. it's less common but it definitely can happen.
http://www.americanpregnancy.org/gettingpregnant/ovulationfaq.htmThis site says that it is possible to ovulate the day after pregnancy and that it is not accurate to say women ovulate 14 days after their period. Every woman is different and they ovulate at different times.
You have your period a fixed 14 days after you ovulate. So if a woman has her period every 21 days, she ovulates on 21-14=7...the 7th day after the 1st day of her period.
When you ovulate depends on your menstrual cycle. You ovulate two weeks BEFORE your period, so how soon after your period you ovulate depends on how long your menstrual cycle is.
How fertile a woman is after menstruation depends on the woman and on her menstrual cycle. During the average 28 day cycle a woman is most likely to ovulate on day 14 and can be fertile between days 7-16 - if a woman's cycle is shorter she could ovulate directly after menstruation so be at her most fertile.
Yes. A woman can ovulate at any point during their cycle even on their period.
For every woman it is different. If you have a 28 day cycle then typically you ovulate (release an egg) 14 days after the first day of your cycle. Then, we assume that four days before to four days after THAT day are fertile days. That is when a woman can conceive.
