How is bacteria added in pickled onions
As long as they are refrigerated, they can last several days. I often chop mine and freeze them in small jars. They last a few months like that.
Four chopped green onions will give you around 1/2 cup, although it would greatly depend on the thickness and length of the green onions. And by "green onions", we will assume you are referring to the long, thin onions, also referred to as scallions or spring onions.
Hanging onions in a cool, dark place will help them to last longer. Good air flow, cool temperatures, and darkness are needed to store onions.

As long as the equipment used to slice the onions was clean and sanitary, sliced onions are perfectly fine to eat. Store sliced onions in the refrigerator.
