8 years or 80,000 miles which ever comes first
Cat and ECU are covered under the 8 years/80,000 miles federal emissions warranty.
The new catalytic converter and gasket for my 2005 outback wagon was $830 installed at an independent Subaru specialist. Are you sure that yours is not covered under warranty (80,000 miles, I think)
In the USA original equipment catalytic converters are generally covered under the 8 year, 80,000 mile federal emissions warranty.
Hard starting, loss of power, converter overheating and turning red from the heat. Check with your local Chevy dealer as catalytic converters are covered by an emissions warranty that is longer than the power-train warranty. It vey well may still be under warranty if you have less than 80,000 miles on the odo.
yes i recently had mine replaced and it was covered under the emissions warranty
Depends on your mileage. It is normally covered for 8 years or 80,000 miles.
AnswerYes, even used. See the EPA link below and show it to the VW dealer. Voluntary warranty extension from 8 years/80,000 (req. by EPA) to 10 years/120K miles. But, if the catalytic converter has ANY visible damage the factory will refuse to honor the warranty. Since it can't be determined if the converter or the damage is the root problem. So before you spend the money to get the technician to determine if it is covered check the converter yourself.
There is two oxygen sensors. One is located before the catalytic converter is located under the heat sheld. The oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter is found under the catalytic converter (under the car) before the catalytic transfer pipe.
The oxygen sensor on a 1999 Honda Civic is located on top of the catalytic converter. The catalytic converter is under the car.
A bad catalytic converter and stopped up muffler will slow down the car. The catalytic converter is under warranty up to 84,000 miles, if defective. If you ran over a speed bump and damaged it, you have to replace it. You can buy a lower catalytic converter for $120 from advance auto parts.
I have a 2004 Outback. The warranty book says that the front and rear converters are covered up to 8 years or 80000 miles. Which ever comes first.
Crawl under the vehicle and follow the exhaust pipe from the engine rearward. You will run into the catalytic converter.
