The Medical College of the University of Wisconsin says a fresh turkey can be kept, uncooked, in your refrigerator for no more than 2 days.
Two days. Three days it starts to get risky.
how long can you keep a turkey in the refrigerator after it has been thawed in the refrigerator before cooking
personally i would cook it without 24hours of it thawing. Don't under-estimate the time it will take to defrost and only defrost it in the fridge - never anywhere warmer.
3 to 5 days
You should never refreeze a thawed smoked turkey. However, once you cook a thawed turkey, you can freeze the meat.
1 hour and 30 minutes
3 to 4 hours.
Thawed sense Wed
no turkey is a country
No it needs to be frozen if not used on a couple of days
1-2 days unless smoked
Thawed turkey smells like eggs because of sulfur. The smell should go away after you rinse the turkey. If it still smells after rinsing, you should not use the turkey.
Yes. Turkey should not be thawed at room temperature. Please see Related Questions.
I bought butterball turkey today Nov 19th and it was completely thawed. Can I refreeze it? Or can I keep it in the refrigerator until Thursday, which is 5 days from now. I don`t know how long it was thawed before I bought it.
Not recommended, but yes. You have multiplied the bacteria by thawing it; but proper cooking will kill the bacteria. Better to refrigerate for up to even 5 days, if necessary, before cooking, as refreezing is likely to affect the texture.
2-3 DAYS. (Not weeks as the last person wrote)...
