my classmates has experienced riptide 2 days ago, they were swimming in a low tide island facing the Pacific Ocean when suddenly a big wave hit their way and it was too late for them to realize that they couldn't feel the sand on their feet, in just a minute they were all struggling to save their lives.. more than 40 students experienced it, 7 died from drowning, 1 was on critical condition, 8 were at the hospital, and the rest were save through CPR.... and now the whole school is grieving from their lost.. :'(, im thankful i wasnt there to experience it.. they all said it was heartbreaking and traumatizing seeing our classmates asking for help...now were praying for those who died.. i hope people would be extra careful when they go to the beach and this story would somehow serve a lesson to everyone.

On average, about 100 people die each year in the US from rip currents. These occur mostly along the Atlantic coast and Gulf of Mexico. It is important to be aware of the dangers and how to escape rip currents when swimming in the ocean.
