Depends on the weight of the bales (both the small squares and large round) and whether that bale is comprised of hay or straw. All bales of hay, straw or baleage are sold in terms of weight (in tons or pounds), not size. Not all LRB's are going to be 5x5; a lot of them range from 4x5 to 6x6. And even then it also depends on how densely packed they are, which ultimately affects their weight.

However, let's assume your asking about a 5x5 1500 lb LRB and wondering how many SSBs (assuming they are around 75 lbs each) fit into that particular bale or bales with that similar weight. So, 1500 / 75 = 20 bales; thus it is estimated that 20 SSBs will fit into one 5x5 LRB assuming the weights are what they are.

There is approximately 20 square bales in a 4x5 round bale. Square bails are a lot easier to store and handle so weigh your options.

How long will a round bale last sheep?

It depends on the size of the bale. One goat will eat one to two flakes (pieces) of a small bale a day. One goat might eat 1/4 of a flake from a 3x3x8 bale in a day, or 1/8 of a flake from a 4x4x8 bale in a day. This is approximate and will vary dependent on the size and breed of the goat.

How many small bales of hay in a large square bale?

if i understand you right, you are asking how many square bales = 1 large round bale, and by large i think you mean 5 wide bales, 5x5, 5x5.25, 5x5.50, 5x6 ect. the answer is 20 - 35 small two wire bales.

How many regular sized bales of hay are in a 36X60 large bale?

What do you mean "regular sized?" There's no such thing as a "regular" sized bale, especially when you don't specify what type of bale you are referring to: large round, small square, small round or large square? And what units of measurement are you using? Are you using inches, feet, centimeters, meters? Please be more specific in your question so you can get a proper answer!

How many small bales are in a 3x3 bale?

That depends on what type of bale you're referring to. If you're referring to small square bales, that would be about four. If you're referring to small round bales, that would be only one. Large squares: one third. Large round bales, one half.

How many 3x3x8 bales will fit on a 48' flatbed semi trailer?

Let's do the math first. One 3x3x8 (obviously large square bale) is equivalent to 72 cubic feet. The length of the trailer would be 48 ft., width would probably be around 8 feet since it's that attached to a semi truck (the number is estimated though, you'll have to measure the width yourself), and bales would be probably be stacked around 9 feet high. That is 48 x 8 x 9 feet = 3456 cubic feet. To find the number of bales that can be fit on the trailer, divide the trailer dimensions by the large square bale dimensions: 3456/72 = 48 bales. Thus, 48 large square bales (plus or minus, depending on how high you want to stack them) would fit on a 48 ft flat-bed semi-trailer.

How many flakes in a bale of hay?

Since a "flake" is the amount of forage compressed in one ramming cycle of the baler, this is completely variable depending on the quality and kind of hay, the size of bale produced by the baler, and other factors as well. I've seen as few as eight flakes in one bale, and as many as thirty.

How much does it cost to produce one bale of hay?

This depends on the size of the bale, whether it's a small square bale or a large round bale. A cow will eat 2.5% to 4% of her body weight per day. For a 1000 lb cow, that's 25 lbs to 40 lbs per day respectively, dry or lactating, respectively (lactating cows tend to eat 50% more than if they were dry). For a 1800 lb cow, that's 45 lbs dry to 72 lbs lactating per day, respectively. One small square bale of hay weighing around 75 lbs will feed one 1800 lb lactating cow per day, not counting wastage percentage. A dry 1800 lb cow will eat that bale up in around 1.8 days. That same small square bale will feed a dry 1000 lb cow around 3 days, and when she's lactating and suckling a calf, around 2 days.A large round bale of hay weighing 2200 lbs (one ton) will feed a lactating 1800 lb cow for 30 days. When she's dry, the bale will last her for less than 50 days. As for the 1000 lb lactating momma, that 2200 lb bale will last her for 55 days. When she's dry, she will be on it for 88 days.So translating that on a bale-per-day basis, here's the results, assuming no waste:1800 lb cow, lactating, fed small 75 lb square bale: 0.96 bales/day1800 lb cow, dry, fed small 75 lb square bale: 0.6 bales/day1000 lb cow, lactating, fed small 75 lb square bale: 0.5 bales/day1000 lb cow, dry, fed small 75 lb square bale: 0.333 bales/day1800 lb cow, lactating, fed large 2200 lb round bale: 0.033 bales/day1800 lb cow, dry, fed large 2200 lb round bale: 0.02 bales/day1000 lb cow, lactating, fed large 2200 lb round bale: 0.018 bales/day1000 lb cow, dry, fed large 2200 lb round bale: 0.011 bales/day

How many small square bales of hay are in a large square bale?

It depends on a lot of different factors, including the type of forage you're baling, where you live, soil quality and type, forage type, whether or not you irrigated and/or fertilized, and so on. Plus, not all round balers are the same. Some will drop heavier bales than others.

How many square feet does a bail of pine straw cover?

It will depend on the size of the bale. Bales come in different sizes, but most will cover somewhere between 20 square feet to 120 square feet at about 2.5 to 3 inches deep. Ask that question when purchasing your bales since the size does vary considerably and some bales are machined compressed and some are hand compressed. For that reason, just looking at a bale and comparing the sizes does not always tell you how many square feet a particular bale will cover.
