It depends on the particular department. Many now require a Bachelor's Degree. ---- Although some departments require a degree, most do not. A 4 month full time police academy will do it.
Different agencies have different requirements. In most areas, the requirement is a two year college degree, plus police academy. It is best to check with the individual agency that you are interested in joining to plan for your educational needs.
You have to apply to a Police Academy and most of the time they offered 2 years or 4 years of College in Criminal Justice(most of the time). It all depends of the requirements of your State and how you want to start. If you have 4 years of Criminal Justice in College , you can apply even to FBI and start with better opportunities as police officer and a rank. If you take the minimum ; you will find yourself with work but for further promotions , you have to keep studying at your time and take tests from the Police department and seminars to keep it up. But we need good officers (well prepared); trust me Iam a daugther of a retired agent that made Captain Rank and worked homocide and became the Director Of CI in Puerto Rico. And he did great things and has a bachelor degree in Criminal justice with a minor in Criminal Physcology. Good Luck !!!!
Requirements vary from department to department and depend on the jurisdiction. Some do not require any college at all, others will have some criminal justice requirements and still others are looking for a bachelor's degree.
Two ways to become an Officer. The first way is to put yourself through a BLET (Basic Law Enforcement Training) course that is offered by a community college. When you get halfway through the course, start applying. Going full-time takes about 4 months and part time is 6 months.
The other way is to apply with a department that has its own Academy and you get paid while going.
18 years of school in all counting your kinder garden. Six years of premary school , Five years of secondary and then you have 1 year of collage and 5 years of unaverstity. Good luck :)
It takes four years in any college to become a police officer.
2 years to be a cop. trust me.

About 22 years. Becoming a police chief takes many years and numerous promotions after the initial position as patrol officer. Because each department only has one chief and that person might stay in the position for many years, a police officer might need to move to a different department to become chief. There is the possibility of jumping/skipping through the ranks which could make the journey to chief a little faster but on average, an officer might spend five years on patrol, 10 years as sergeant, five years as lieutenant, two years as assistant chief and finally a promotion to police chief. If the repo agent can demonstrate that he has lawful claim to take the car then the Police Officer cannot prevent him.
Training period depends on different states police departments. If you are a graduate then you can give groups exams of particular state and enter the police department. It nearly takes one to two years of training.
I don't think they can, even if they are law enforcements, it would be wrong for a Police officer to do that.
Yes, you will do excercise tuff in officer training, but be in shape and fit
