purebred dogs can cost from $300-$1000 usually scotties around $500. also try scottie rescue for about $120.

DON"T BUY FROM PET STORES THAT BUY FROM PUPPY MILLS!!!!!

Not all pet stores buy from puppy mills!!! I got my pomeranian form a pet shop.. The breeder that she came from is known as a very reputable breeder with the APRI a dog registry based in the Midwest {that just so happens to be friends with the owner of the store}.... of all the dogs that the store received her's were some of the best.... but I do advise that if you do purchase a dog from a pet shop do your homework first ask to see their sell policy... see what kinds of warranties they offer in case something goes wrong with the dog.... only go to a pet store if you can not find what you are looking for elseewhere.....

Price depends ENTIRELY on your location AND the time of year you are trying to sell. I raise Scotties, as well as Westies, and I sell my Scotties for $200-$400 depending on bloodlines. Even extremely high quality dogs will rarely reach $1,000 in Scotties.

Westies average about $350 year round, regardless of bloodlines.

I just moved from Michigan to the east coast (Maryland/DC area). We have one Scottie and are looking for another. Talking with breeders from regional Scottish Terrier Club of America (STCA) clubs, a "good" Scottie could cost between $1,500-2,000.

You should go to a animal rescue or a animal shelter because the pets there are almost always free.

There is a page in Wikipedia on the breed - including notes on the history. See related link.
