the gas tank to see if there is any gas in it the gas tank to see if there is any gas in it
The answer depends on your gas mileage and the size of your gas tank. If you have a 15-gallon tank and get 25 miles per gallon and start with a full tank , you should be able to get there with one stop for gas. More likely you should figure on stopping twice.
no gas no start, refill the gas tank
How much gas in the tank
Depends on how you get it out. If possible the tank should be drained and the lines disconected and flushed. If you can drain or syphon the tank on a modern fuel injected car the system should circulate the bad gas back to the tank in just a minute or two when trying to start the car. REMEMBER this will not work unless the tank has new good gas in it. The amount of bad gas in the lines should not hurt the new gas as long as you have a Half tank or more of new gas.
# Put gas into the gas tank # Turn the ignition key to "on", but not start and wait until the fuel pump stops. # Do #2 several times # Attempt to start engine normally. # Refill gas tank at ¼ tank next time.
It may not have actually been out of gas. If your fuel pump fails, gas will not get from the tank to the engine, no matter how much is in the tank. Have a mechanic check it out.

It depends on gas prices and how much gas you have in your tank.
