Your passport must be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. No additional period of validity beyond this is required. However, it is always sensible to have a short period of extra validity on your passport in case of any unforeseen delays to your departure. You do not have to wait until your old passport expires to apply to renew it. Any time left on your old passport when you apply will be added to your new passport, up to a maximum of nine months.
It depends on your nationality.
Citizens of other EU and Schengen countries do not need any time left on their passports.
Citizens of other countries normally need a passport which is valid for 3 months after the date they intend to leave the Schengen area.
Your passport must be valid for your intended length of stay. Some countries allow up to six months per visit, other countries only allow three months; To avoid complications, you passport should probably be valid for at least six months.

You have to have one or two days more than the complete trip.
Let's say the trip there takes 12 hours and the trip back the same. That counts as one day. Then you'll stay there for two days. Then that's three days. You'll have to have either four or five days left.
If the trip there takes five hours and the trip back the same, then those ten still count as one day. As long as it's more than eight hours, it counts as a day.
Or, some places, you have to count in the amount of time it takes to get a new passport. Approximately two or three more days. Then you'll have to have seven or eight days. Just to be safe, make sure you have one and a half week or at least nine days left on your passport.
i does depend on how long you are going for but if you only have 6 months on your passport you should be able to go as long as your going for less than 6 months or if you have got a one way ticket that would be fine two
If you travel to France and you are an EU citizen you don't need the usual 3 months left on your passport that you would have to have for some travel destinations.
Usually, you need six months left.
At least three months.

According to the State Department website and the airlines (USAirways) your passport just needs to be valid for your travel dates. As long as you are back before your passport expires, you are OK.
How long needed on passport to travel to FinlandFinland
A person may still travel to any country as long as the passport is not expired. How long before it expires is not taken into account unless the passport expires before the traveler is expected to return.
Certain countries require that there be a minimum time left on your passport before you can enter the country (eg 3 years to expiry) As these are generally countries ther require a visa to enter, the information should be given to you by the travel agent or particular embassy. But I don't think you can travel if your passport will expire before your return date unless you're an EU Citizen within an EU state because then there are ways to get a new one from home.
It is not possible to travel to Israel on a passport that is less than 6 months left on their passport as a passport is not a form of transport. You would be much better using an aeroplane or train if possble.
