fill it nearly to the top, res are very good swimmers and are naturally found in fairly deep pond waters. it should be in a 60+ gallon tank and have a dock [preferably home made for a res that size] so it can dry off and bask under the UV
Adult sliders need 75 gallons plus of water. Babies can be perfectly happy starting out in a 10gallon tank and upgrading as they grow. The water should be as deep as possible.
just set your turtle in the bottom of your tank and then pour water in the tank only about 4 or 5 inches above the turtle that way incase the turtle flips over he can flip back over.
red eared turtles live in both ,water and land
no
no,slider turtles have fixed tongues but no saliva for that reason they must eat inside water
no RES turtles are fresh water turtles
yes, it does.
No they do not breathe under water. They have lungs. Aquatic turtles such as the red - eared slider can hold their breath for 3 - 4 hours.
"Slider" is a catchall term for several species of similar-looking turtles, found in tropical to temperate regions of the New World and known for their habit of resting out of the water on logs and similar surface, and "sliding" into the water with little or no splash when disturbed.
As a rule of thumb, you should not feed your turtle anything bigger than his head. Aquatic or semi aquatic turtles can eat fish. However, if you have them in a tank, even with filtration, it can cause an oily film on the surface of the water.
No. Semi-Aquatic Turtles like the Red eared Slider will only lay eggs on land, not under water.
Forever. How long can they stay alive underwater? It depends.
no but it will make them very sick if they dont have enough water
10 gallon tanks can fit some snakes and you they can also fit geckos. I have a gopher snake in a 10 gallon and it fits with a good amount of space for a big hide.
