well Tsunamis are common were lots of hurricanes happen underwater most of the times they happen 4-7 times per year like the Tsunami that happen 2004 Indonesia people call it "boxing day Tsunami" to see the video go to YouTube and put boxing day Tsunami then enter then the 3rd box then you'll see how bad it was. :(
California won't have Tsunami because California's under water land is shift so it won't cause Tsunami. For a Tsunami to occur however, there must be some kind of vertical movement under water along the fault. This vertical movement must be capable of displacing huge amounts of water, thus causing waves. Tsunami can also be caused by land sliding in to the sea with such great force that it creates a wave. Similar to the effect of throwing a pebble into a puddle of water. Tsunami caused by uneven under water land so it will have a great force of wave to push up the water to land. California's under water land is shift but flat so it won't cause Tsunami. I know in California you don't have to worry about Tsunami but I heard the News on TV that California is an Earthquake Zones.
Never really so do not be afraid we hardly ever even have earthquakes

Yes. The California has been struck by tsunamis originating across tha Pacific from near the coasts of Alaska, Japan, and Chile among other places. It is likely that the nearby Cascadia Subduction zone has at least impacted northern California with tsunamis, though none have stuck in recorded history.
Since the beginning of time, countless numbers of tsunamis have hit the United States and its territories. However, many of these tsunamis have not hit contiguous states, and were directed at Hawaii.

There is a system of tidal buoys that are designed to detect tsunamis before they hit the shore, but a tsunami caused by an earthquake along the coast would hit the beach before any alarm could be given.
195 tsunamis have hit Japan in total

well first of all, people are going to get hit by tsunamis but also buildings are likely to get detroyed too depending on how high and how strong was it. a tsunamis occur when the ocean gets desturbed( example:earthquake-anything that shakes the land ). tsunamis are no laughing matter.
