They'll drink their mother's milk until they are old enough to eat hamster food, at which point they'll start eating it on their own.
It depends on how old they are newborn hamsters only drink their mothers milk until they grow older and can get their own food.
When hamsters get old, 2-3 year lives, mash his/her food make it easier for digestion.
Regular hamster food, like vegetables. (important so hamsters don't get diarrhea) water of course, and hamster food sold in little bags or something.
Yes they do my old hamster used to love it. they also eat grapes and carrots.
Hamsters drink milk from their mothers until they are three weeks old. After this they eat what their parents are eating. A small handful of dried food and a handful of fresh such as carrots or letice.
If the 1 year old hamster is a syrian hamster DO NOT put another hamster with it. They are hamsters that NEED to be alone. If it is a dwarf, hamster, it might be ok. Dwarf hamsters like having each others company. However, if the 1 year old hamster is not use to other hamsters, it might not go over to well.
You should not touch the baby hamsters until they are 6 weeks old. Don't play with the mother hamster. If you touch the baby hamsters before 4 weeks the mother hamster might eat her babies. Give extra food because the mother might think that there isn't enough food and kill some of her babies. Don't be surprised when the mother eats her baby because the baby might be sick. I never had a female hamster but I read all this from a book. Good Luck!
Dwarf hamsters can eat seeds one week after they are able to eat solid foods. This is when they are about 4 weeks old.
Baby hamsters will start to eat solid food at around 8 days old until they are gradually weaned at 21 days
