^ Hi, try by becoming friends with him for a start, and yeah, talk about things he likes and try and found out more about him. Be there for him when he needs someone to talk to. Also, try and find out what type of girl he likes, that way you'll know just what he's looking for, and you can try and be like that.
But, try not to change just for a boy, it will not get you anywhere! Don't be fake, if you decide to, try not to make it a drastic change!
