Is the gas cap attached to the car? could you have spilled some fuel in the trunk while hauling a gas can? If neither of those 2 apply to your situation, I suggest opening the hood and inspecting the fuel lines, fuel rails, fuel filter, fuel pump and injectors. good luck
HeadlineI had a similar incident happen right after I took my car in for an oil change. I vaugely smelled gasoline. I lifted the hood and noticed that they forgot to replace the cap on the manifold. Luckily it was still left where they left it.Wiki User
