If a heat exchange unit in a Teledyne II ESC heater is leaking can it be replaced or should the entire unit be replaced?

Yes, you can replace the heat exchanger in the unit, but will cost approximately 1/2 of the price of installing a brand new unit.
The exchanger should only be replaced if the unit is less than 6-7 years old and in excellent shape, especially the combustion chamber lining.
