Child support usually ends at age 18; the earliest a person can join the army is age 17 yrs 6 months, with parental consent. So you're talking 6 months, maximum. I think that's a case by case thing, really - the kid's entitled to the money until they turn 18, but it might go directly to the kid if they're in the military, not to the parent.
