That's not the firing order. An engine will not run if that were the firing order.

up to 1994 ? the spark plug firing order on the 302 V8 in the F 100 / F 150 was
( 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 ) and the distributor rotor turns COUNTER CLOCKWISE ,
on the 1995 and 1996 F150 302 V8 ( 5.0 L ) the spark plug firing order changed to
(1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 ) and the distributor rotor also turns COUNTER CLOCKWISE
On both , the distributor cap is installed with the marked # 1 position facing to the
rear and slightly towards the drivers side of the engine

You have most likely changed the order at which the plugs are hooked up to the distributor, how car care friendly is ya? If you are very you'll understand what I mean right off. If not the firing order of your truck is something like 2513867 or smothering weird yet the firing order of your distributor is 12345678... See where I'm getting at you need you distributor to fire 1 to cyl 1 and next not cyl 2 but what ever is in the firing order. The firing order should be stamped on your intake or on the block somewhere. Also some crap shack like orilies can tell you what it is... That help? Now send me some Obey for answering this bulls question
