its requested by the insurance people to do a drug test on employees. some employees have drug problems that causes underlying problems that go undetected. the employee misses work or may ask for a leave of work but doesn't tell the truth about the drug addiction. I'm not hinting or implying that you have one, its just protection for the company to cover all bases on the reason the person has stress. most people that take on a job that the company hires them for, feels the person has adequate qualifications to perform their job without any problems. if you leave because of stress related problems, they feel like there is something else going on. they might think you can't handle it and may try to replace you. if you just need a vacation, don't say "why". if its not time for you to get one, tell them their is a family issue going on that needs to be addressed. which is true.
