No, but it can be treated. There is no cure for the flu, our bodies must handle the infection using the immune system's defenses to render the virus inactive, instead. In the meantime, we feel the symptoms of the flu until the immune system has accomplished this. The symptoms can be treated and the duration of the viral infection can be shortened, however. For information about his, see the related questions below.

In addition, there are effective preventative vaccines for all well-known strains of flu, and the very few anti-viral meds on the market (like Tamiflu) seem to minimize symptoms and discomfort and can shorten the duration of the illness, but they must be given immediately upon manifestations of symptoms (within the first 48 hours) or they don't work as well.

Yes, but only by your body's immune system's work. There are no treatments or medicines to do that for you. Treatment of the flu is "symptomatic", meaning you can treat the symptoms to make you feel better until your body stops the infectious process, but it is not going to impact the lytic cycle of the virus (how it replicates). Yes it is!

For typical dengue, the treatment is purely concerned with relief of the symptoms (symptomatic). Rest and fluid intake for adequate hydration is important. Aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should only be taken under a doctor's supervision because of the possibility of worsening hemorrhagic complications. Acetaminophen and codeine may be given for severe headache and for the joint and muscle pain (myalgia).

Is Swine Flu disease curable?

No. Influenza is the disease that swine flu virus causes and influenza is not curable yet. It is preventable. It is able to have the symptoms mitigated with antiviral medicines and cough medicine and other flu medicines over the counter. But a cure is not yet developed for the flu or for the common cold. Once you have had a particular type of flu virus, you will less likely get that same exact virus again and for some people it is lifelong immunity, although there are some scientists who believe that the immunity weakens over time and that is a reason for repeated vaccinations for the flu each season along with the need to cover any new flu viruses that are in the wild that season.
