I'm currently in my Junior year of high school and as of right now I have a 3.00 GPA (9th & 10th grades & 1st quarter of 11th grade). I figured that if I make all A's for my Junior end-of-year grade then I can get a 3.34. I was wondering if this was a good GPA for high school. I am currently taking Honors Chemistry and AP English Writing Seminar (the only Honors or AP I am taking this year). Next year I plan on taking AP Biology, AP Psychology, AP Physics, AB Calculus (or AP Stat, I haven't decided yet), possibly AP Spanish (I hate language courses so, I don't know if I'm taking this) English 12, and some history course. Is that enough APs? As you may be able to tell I am extremely worried about getting into college. I really want to go to Vanderbilt or Duke, but I don't know if I will have the opportunity to go because of my grades. I do pretty well on the testing (SAT/PSAT) the only time that I took the actual SAT I was in 7th grade (with the TIP program for Duke) and got a 1590 (I don't know how good or bad that is...???) and have only taken the PSAT since then. The major thing that is holding me back is my GPA. With what I have shared with you, do I have a decent chance of getting into a good college like Vanderbilt or Duke??
Yes, with regular classes the highest grade average you can attain is a 4.0. With some special classes and honors classes, it is possible to achieve higher than a 4.0.
Yes, if your courses are of the highest level offered at your school.
its more than respectable, I wouldnt worry too much :)
yes it is
If you have a 3.3 GPA in high school, you will need to continue you good study habits in college. Your GPA does not carry over from high school to college.
Have a good (GPA)
The path to law school is high school --> bachelors degree --> law school. Thus, the high school GPA would be somewhat irrelevant when it comes to law school application provided that the undergraduate GPA of the applicant was good.
you have to have four point oh GPA and do good in school.

kevin durtant gpa in high school was an 4.0
a good one It depends upon what school you are trying to get into. There are many schools that will accept any GPA, and many that are highly competitive that do require a high GPA.
yes it is cause it is almost a 4.0.
No, the GPA is calculated separately. However, if you're trying to recover from a bad GPA in high school, having a good GPA in community college will be a valuable asset if you plan on applying to a four-year school.
Graduating with a 3.5+ GPA is a good place to start.
Average High School GPA: 3.9
2.0 GPA
