I have a set of skeet grade II engraved by Felix Funken. The historian for Browning said the value was much higher because of the signing and the year of prduction.
AnswerFELIX FUNKEN ENGRAVED ALL OF THOSE GRADES. IF HE DID A GUN, HE WOULD SIGN IT. THESE GUNS IN ALL GRADE MENTION WOULD GO FOR A HIGHER PRICE BECAUSE OF HIS NAME. BROWNING MADE GRADE III, IV, V & VI AND WERE ENGRAVED BY MANY DIFFERENT ENGRAVERS. FELIX FUNKEN WAS A MASTER ENGRAVER AND STARTED THE BROWNING ENGRAVING SCHOOL. FRANK
Fekix Funken engraved all grades except grade 1. He also made special order guns with custom engraving. It is possible some guns engraved by his students were signed by him, which was an accepted practice for a master engraver. And yes they are wortj more.
A. Marchal was a Master engraver with Browning Arms in the 50s/60s and engraved numerous Diana Grade Superposed Browning shotguns as well as high end Browning rifles.
You will have to contact Browning.
Reccomend that you contact Browning.
It if was done by the factory, it might be Master Engraver Jules Lwanczk.
Browning.com has sn data under customer service. The engraver's initials might be hidden somewhere in the engraving.
You will have to call Browning.
Paul Revere was a silversmith and engraver so he engraved many things.

Possible.
This set would be a high end collectors item. Depending on the Engraver and the quality of the engraving, its recommended to seek a professional appraisal. A Ball park figure is too tough to give without seeing the guns.
These grade numbers are cosmetic identification. You may be more familiar with some older designations such as: Superposed(plain), Pidgeon Grade, Diana Grade, Midas Grade(heavily engraved with gold inlay, exhibition grade wood), etc. The higher the grade the deeper the engraving, gold inlay(always24k),,higher grade(rarer) wood progressively as well for each grade. The guns are simply fancier, they do not shoot better, works of art actually. If you appreciate this kind of detail, have a knowledge of requirements to even be an engraver for Browning, they are considered artists in steel. These types of arms appreciate to a higher level as there are fewer of them and the engravers become famous themselves(guns are signed), as do our own Colt, etc., factory engraved pieces.
An engraved bracelet is produced by using a diamond tipped engraver that is used like a pen. Also etching with acids is another way to engrave metals but is not as commonly used.
