There can be several reasons.
First of all: If your cat's stools are so soft that they get on her tail and on the floor, she may be sick and you should take her to the vet as soon as possible, just to make sure there is nothing wrong. Diarrhea can dehydrate a small animal very quickly, and make her even worse.
Second: Make sure that the food (especially the cold, canned food) is not past its expiration date. Open cans of food usually stay fresh for two days if stored in the refrigerator. You could try dishing the food out as normal, covering it and leaving it for half an hour or so to warm up.
Third: A sudden change in the the kind of food a cat eats can cause stomach upset (change in brand, change in dry/canned, etc). New foods should be introduced gradually, mixing them in with the food she is used to until her system gets used to the new food.
