It depends on the state you live in. Most states, if not all, require the minimum of 2 side mirrors.
There's also laws regarding if your windows are dark tinted or you have a customized set-up in the back where you might not even be able to see out of the far back rear window, you should check your state's driving laws. Usually the DMV will have that information.
I find that the 2 tiny side mirrors on my 1968 VW camper barely get the job done as it is so perhaps more the better.
