i had an ultrasound when i was 6 weeks pregnant, but by ultrasound, the pregnancy measured to be 5 weeks, so no fetal pole was seen yet. i think the earliest fetal poles can be seen is about 6 1/2 - 7 weeks. hope this helps :)

Should you see a fetal pole at 5 weeks 1 day?

At 5 weeks 5 days I had no fetal pole detected, just an empty sac. I had the same at 7.0 weeks. However, at 7.5 days a fetal pole and heartbeat could be seen. From talking to friends during the "waiting" time, it appears that most women do not see a fetal pole until about 6 weeks minimum.

If your ultrasound measured 6 weeks 4 days but no fetal pole was seen what are your chances of a miscarriage?

From what I understand, you should see a fetal pole by that time. However, I would go back for another u/s in about a week to see if things have changed or not.

Is it normal not to have a fetal heartbeat in 6 weeks of pregnancy butthere is a fetal pole and sac?

My doctor is checking me at 7 weeks because it is usually detectable sometime between 6 1/2 and 7 weeks.

How early can you see the placenta on ultra sound?

at about 4 weeks they can sometimes see the gestation sac. by 5 weeks they can usually see the yolk sac. and by 6 weeks you can usually see a fetal pole, sometimes even a heartbeat

nothing every child grows at a different rate at a different time no worries with in a week is not a big deal

What does it mean if you were told you had an invalid pregnancy after two ultrasounds but after a vaginal ultrasound they said there is a fetal pole?

A fetal pole is the first visible sign of a developing embryo. This pole structure actually isn't a nice straight "pole" ... it actually has some curve to it with the embryo’s head at one end and what looks like a tail at the other end. I am not sure what to tell you about what they are saying... but I do know that the fetal pole is usually best seen around 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 weeks. I hope the pregnancy is viable... I guess only time will tell that... I wish you nothing but the best...Greenidparalegal

How long before a doctor can see a baby in an ultrasound?

ABout 5 to 6 Weeks, not much there to see really. They are tiny tiny then. God bless

No fetal pole on 6 week ultrasound low hcg levels only 1340 is there still hope?

This is not going to be much comfort- I experienced a simiar episode and am now at 5.5 weeks with a repeat episode. My last pregnancy my levels were 3400 ish and only increased to 4700 ish someweeks later. I was told that levels that do not double at least every 72 hours are not promising. ometimes At 5 weeks and almost always by 6 weeks you should see a gestational sac, yolk sac and fetal pole with electrical activity about 80 to 125 beats. That's what I remember from my Drs apt. There are others with positive outcomes. at 6 weeks the levels can range from 200 to 150000. Good luck I m hoping it works out for you. The waiting is hard I know. God bless.

Your ultrasound showed that you are 6 weeks pregnant but you should be 9 could that mean you are having a miscarriage?

An ultrasound at 6 weeks should show a fetal heartbeat, if there was a fetal heartbeat you're not miscarrying.. It's probable you estimated your due date wrong.

What is visible on an ultrasound at 6 weeks?

At 6 wks pregnant, on ultrasound, you can see the gestational sac ( the home of the baby). Unless you have an endovag ultrasound, then you can see a very small fetal pole and a small heart beat. It is very hard to see anything at that early of pregnancy.

Is a fetal heartbeat of 114 at 6 weeks and 1 day Good or Bad?

I'm at 6 week and 4 day, the fetal heartbeat was 114, and my doctor said that normal, so don't worry & get relax.

If you have fetal pole and heart beat but you are 12 weeks pregnant?

A fetal pole and heartbeat are signs of a healthy pregnancy at 5 ½ to 6 ½ weeks. If there is a heartbeat, you have every reason to think you are having a healthy pregnancy. I would suggest maybe there is some miscalculation of the dates and further testing needs to be done; a serum hCG level, with a repeat in 6 days and an ultra-sound repeated in 3 to 7 days, should clear up a lot of questions. Below are the specific things to look for in the first trimester that will indicate pregnancy is progressing normally. The first trimester weeks 1 through the end of week 13.Weeks 3 -5 Since LMP - (Fetal Age 1 - 3 weeks): Between day 6 - 12 after conception, the blastocyst will imbed into the uterine lining, marking the beginning of the embryonic stage. At this time the thickening of the endometrium (uterine lining) is evident. After the embryo implants into the endometrium, hCG starts to rise 18 - 7,340 mIU/m is a normal level and it will continue to double every 2 to 3 days. Before an embryo is visible, the yolk sac can be seen inside the gestational sac - late in the 3rd week.Week 6 Since LMP - (Fetal Age - 4 weeks): A vaginal ultrasound could possibly detect an audible heartbeat at this time. The embryo is about a ½ inch in length.5 ½ to 6 ½ weeks is usually when either a fetal pole or even a fetal heart beat by vaginal ultrasound is detected. The fetal pole is the first visible sign of a developing embryo. Normal hCG levels are 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml.Week 8 since LMP - (Fetal Age - 6 weeks):Everything a full grown person has, your embryo now has (in miniature) The bones are beginning to form, and the muscles can contract. The embryo is at the end of the embryonic period and begins the fetal period.A normal heartbeat at 6-7 weeks would be 90-110 beats per minute. The presence of an embryonic heart beat, is an indication of a healthy pregnancy. hCG levels will run 7,650 - 229,000 mIU/ml at 7 to 8 weeks.Weeks 9 -13 since LMP - (Fetal Age - 7 to 14 weeks): The fetus has grown to about 3 inches in length and weighs about an ounce. The fetus can make a fist, and the buds for baby teeth appear. The head is nearly half the size of the entire fetus. The hCG levels will peak at about 8-12 weeks of pregnancy normal levels will run from between 7,650 - 288,000 mIU/ml.
