Inside the front passenger side wheel well (with a flashlight, you can see it through the fender vent). You have to remove the fender to get access.
Remove two push on caps on wiper arms. Remove nuts and wiper arms, disconnect washer hoses. Remove "push in" plastic retainers on plastic cowl grille and remove grille. Disconnect electrical plug on motor. Remove 3 bolts securing wiper transmission/motor. Lift out assembly. Remove motor from transmission - 2 torx screws and nut on motor shaft @ trans link. Note position of trans link on motor shaft. Reverse all to reinstall.
The engine and transmission are removed out the bottom at the same time.
You rent or buy a hoist, undo motor mounts trans mounts etc then lift it over core support without trans or leave trans attached and roll it out the front. This is easiest way, but have to take apart front end
You have to remove the passenger front fender. The blower is located on the firewall inside the fender.
Easiest to remove drive shaft to rear (4X4 remove front one also) Remove torqe converter bolts. Disconnectcooler lines from right side of trans. Put floor jack under trans. remove cross member. Then remove trans bolts from around bellhousing. Block engine up under oil pan. Take engine weight off trans then put trans back away from motor until you can get air wrench on fly wheel bolts. After changed put back together. Be care Full and put boards under oil pans to prvent damage.
Some of these are harder than others. Some you need to jack up the motor to remove the starter from below. Some you also have to loosen the trans from the body to jack the engine high enough to fit the starter through.
trans bell bolts? 3 or 4 top of trans, back of motor under exhaust crossover pipe 1 above starter 1 back of motor, use flashlight, look over pass side axle at back of motor
Drain coolant and oil. disconnect cables, battery, and hoses hook it up, remove the trans bolts, remove the motor mounts, disconnect wires and hoses.
Both ways however it's easier if you remove subframe with motor/trans still attached to it you will need a table jack to hold it
put in a thicker oil if its the motor but if its trans. change oil and change the seal on the peace that you remove to take the oil out.
I leave the engine in place and just remove the transmission.
