How do you manipulate a sociopath?
I wouldn't do this at all. You are just setting your self up for a nasty confrontation. It is a complete waste of time to try to manipulate this person. You will so much time trying to figure out what to say and do to manipulate this person. If this person is a true sociopath stay away from them. You will only bring yourself incredible grief and pain trying to control this person. sociopaths don't have any empathy for people. They are just about getting what they want. IF you pursue this matter it could even become dangerous. Save your self from this situation by leaving it alone and getting this person out of your life if that is possible.

No it's not possible, but Sociopaths are crafty like a fox. They are chameleons and can change within the environment they are in if they are trying to impress someone, but eventually they are found out and their cover is blown. The reason it appears that a sociopathic person is harder on their spouse is because the sociopath can be just who they are behind closed doors. Their moods can change quickly (one hour they are up beat and in minutes something can set them off.) Some sociopaths do know right from wrong, but most don't have a conscience and could care less whom they use and hurt. The sociopath is actually forced to become a loner because most people won't put up with their behavior. Some sociopaths can be dangerous. Be warned that unless this person has been diagnosed as having sociopathic behavior then it's 'arm chair psychiatry) to label anyone a sociopath.

i have a daughter who is a sociopath. she was raised in a very , giving, loving home.ittook me a long time to accept this. i always said it was because she was around bad people. in reality it was her who was the bad person. everything she told me was a lie.all of the people she knew ended up coming to me and telling their horrible stories about her.she is a manipulaive liar with no feelings or remrse. she fits all of robert hares criteria of sociopathy.now she is trying to take my son with special needs money to the public trustee. she has written horrible letters about me with her sociopathic grandmother.they have found a common element in theirselves-that being sociopathy.they are beyond sick.it took me years to come to terms with this.her games and lies and without concience.
