Physically it could potentially cause a headache or eye strain. On a different note, there are some that believe that reading too much will cause people to quit thinking for themselves and begin to depend on only what they get from a book. Einstein was from this school of thought. He believed that even though you should be literate and educate yourself, you should still take time to experiment and have independent thought. He felt that only learning by what was in a book would lead to not having any new thoughts or ideas.
