They are not endangered anymore, though once was because people hunted it for its hide and meat. It is no longer even a threatened species, and is doing just fine in the southeastern United States. There are estimated to be up to 2 million in Louisiana alone.
The American alligator is very dangerous. It can grow up to 20ft. All alligators are dangerous really and don't get near alligators especially in Spring because that's when they have their babies.
Alligators are very dangerous. They are very sneaky and are quick in and out of the water. Extremely strong jaw so you don't want to be near its mouth. Hard to see in the waters.
DON'T SWIM WITH THEM PLEASE

No, not at all! The alligator numbers in the millions, while the American crocodile is down to around 1000 in the US, more in Central America.
It was once endangered because of over hunting, but has recovered nicely, and is not endangered.
because habitat lossing due to urbanisation.
Probably an alligator because crocodiles are more vicious and have bigger teeth _____ I'd rather have a crocodile attack an alligator instead of me!!!
The crocodile is bigger than the alligator. The crocodile can grow up to 4,400lbs while the alligator can grow to about 3/4 this weight. Maximum length on a croc is about 28ft while an alligator is about 20ft.
Since most crocs are larger and more aggressive, I would go with the crocodile.
The crocodile is a lot stronger. Its jaw is more built to tackle big prey, and it is much more physically robust.
Yes there are; American crocodiles (Crocodylus acutus) are known to live in Florida in small numbers. However, they are rare, and Americans are more familiar with the much more common, yet smaller and less dangerous American alligator (Alligator mississipiensis).
The nile crocodile. It is larger, better armed, more aggressive, stronger, and has a more powerful jaw.
Nile Crocodile, because more deadly and 200 attacks per year.
The crocodile has a more tapered snout than the broader snout of the alligator.
A crocodile's head is more narrow and the snout comes to more of a point as compared to an alligator. An alligator's snout is blunt - more of a U-shape. I try to remember the difference by thinking that if the nose is pointed like a capital "A", then it is not an Alligator. It's a bit tough to remember since it is a negative. Another memory jog - though negative - would be if the snout is rounded (a capital "C" is rounded) it is not a Crocodile.

A crocodile's head is broader, and it has a thinner snout than an alligator's head. The alligator's head is also darker than the crocodile's. For more information, see the links below.
The Crocodile would most likely win due to the fact that crocodiles are generally more aggressive and on average they are larger then alligators so they have a size advantage
