The answer to this question is really a matter of opinion. Back in the TV-14 era of wwe/wwf, the fanbase was strong . People 13 and up would appear at live events or tune in every week to witness some rather controversial events. WWF would feature blatant sexual content, mild language, and even offer a message of subliminal domination. We can all remember the Montreal Screwjob and the controversial events of the Attitude era . In this controversial time, politicians greatly tried to suppress and even shut down the show. As said earlier, the fanbase was existant and large.
Ever since WWE went PG, certain things have occured . The age limit has dropped, attendance and fanbase has all but ceased , and more and more parents feel comfortable letting their children watch a Monday Night Raw or a Smackdown!. One of WWE's main points is reaching out to children and important groups such as the Make a wish Foundation among others.
rumor has it that the PG era will end maybe somehere in 2015

I say PG it isant bad enough to be PG-13
It tells the motherboard that the "Power is Good". PG stands for Power Good.
The level of violence changed the rating from G to PG.
you can probably find some good PG anime on any anime channel
I would think it's because they want to change things for the family PG era. and also the nxt for new generation superstars. Personaly I think that the new era is not a good idea becAuse storys ain't that good anymore. But there is not a problem with changing a couple things

"The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" directed by Sergio Leone and starring Clint Eastwood was rated "M" for "Mature" (today's equivalent of "PG") in 1969, but was re-rated in 1989 as "R" or "Restricted". Today, it still holds that rating due to the film's frequent violence and momentary nudity.
The PG started in WWE on June 24, 2007. Now that PG has went WWE is not as good.
