no ville valo the lead singer grew up catholic and when reporters asked him what his religion was he said: I'm not sure if i believe in God or not, surly there has to be something behind all of the things and the planet, and i find it hard to beilieve that HIM got this big on its own, so yes i do beilieve there is forces out there helping us and if there is a God, awsome but i dont realy know forsure.
HIM stands for "His Infernal Majesty." The name, and their lyrics would point towards no.
Although most doubt assertions that the singer of the band HIM, or any of their members, are actually Satanic, they labeled one of their albums volume 666 which is the number of the devil. Often metal and goth bands are labeled as "Satanic" by people who don't enjoy heavier music, and will play up that angle to sell more records to angsty youth.
There are many references to Christian theology in the music of HIM, but without a very Christian ideology, although singer Ville Valo espouses a theistic view on things.
Because Christian rock has such a strong culture and marketing positioning, Christian bands almost always clearly state their alignment. There's a difference between a Christian band and band with Christian members. A good rule of thumb is, if it isn't obvious after a Google search, they're probably not a Christian band.
This is an opinion question. I personally think that Love Metal is the best; it is consistently strong, it has several killer tracks and is heavier than many. Dark Light is also very strong. Deep Shadows... has its high points but doesn't really match up to those two, the same with Greatest Lovesongs..., and Venus Doom, Razorblade Romance and Screamworks... don't live up to that high standard. Venus Doom grows on you, though.
This band is completely awesome!!!!!!! you should listen to it!... go to the concerts and leave your heart open and let the music fill it up<3
Not specifically. There are many references to Christian theology in the music, but without a very Christian ideology, although Ville Valo espouses a theistic view on things.
