Best Answer

it could be.. gringo is not a bad word but if youre saying something negative it could be seen as a negative concept

for example, its like using "Asian"

you could say: Asian girls are really hot.

bit you couls also say: My friend has ugly eyes, just like asians.

(i dont really mean that, im not racist!)

Where did the term gringo come from does it refer to the Marines killing the child heroes at Chapultepec?

Not at all. Gringo is a term that comes from Spain, meaning foreigner. It roughly meant "Greek", as in "you are talking to me in Greek" (Spanish: me estas hablando en Griego), or "I don't understand you".The word derived from Griego to Grigo and then to Gringo. Then it became adopted among the Spanish possessions in the Americas. Nowadays it is used mostly to refer to American foreigners, but most often than not, it is used as a neutral adjective, without negative connotations.
