Tramadol is a mild synthetic opioid with additional properties similar to those of modern anti-depressants. Percocet is a combination of oxycodone and acetaminophen, and is a more potent analgesic than tramadol.
Yes, it is similar. Tramadol and Percocet are both analgesics. In other words. they help to relieve pain. They use acetaminophen with both. Side effects are about the same with both of them, that is, consstipation, drowsiness, nausea. They do not have the same compounds, but essentially do the same thing. Both can be habit forming.
No. They are also 2 different kinds of pain killers. Percocet is an opiate, where tramadol (ultram) is a non-narcotic but with opiate like genetics, just doesn't pass the blood brain barrier like percocet or other opiates.
No. Tramadol is a weak opiate similar to codeine (though more dangerous due to seizures at high doses). Percocet is the brand name for medicine containing oxycodone a much more powerful opiate about 20 times stronger.
Yes
Tramadol can produce euphoric effects similar to other opioids, but they are generally not as strong. Also, abusing prescription medications is illegal and can be dangerous.
Tapentadol (Nucynta) is a different drug that is in the same class as tramadol (Ultram) and very similar to it in most respects. For all practical purposes it is a Brand name, and so more expensive, version of tramadol.
Im not a doctor, but i think youll be fine taking tramadol. Tramadol is not an antibiotic. Tramadol is a stripped down piperadine molecule; a codeine analog. Tramadol has a weak affinity for the mu opioid receptor, and serotonergic properties similar to venlafaxine. If you are allergic to venlafaxine(effexor) or any synthetic opioid analgesics, then id be cautious about taking tramadol. Tramadol is usually used as a painkiller. I dont see any reason why a penicillin allergy would cause you to react badly to tramadol. they are two completely different drugs.
not possible
I'm unaware of any formulation which contains both tramadol and codeine, nor can I think of any real benefit to doing so. They're both opioid analgesics and do pretty much the same thing, so there's little point in combining them.
Because it is an opioid, much in the same way as codeine or morphine.
The HCL in Tramadol HCL stands for hydrochloride. Tramadol is sold as Tramadol and Tramadol HCL
yes
Yes. percoset is oxycodone and aspirin, and penicillin is a bacterial antibiotic (first one ever). There are no drug interactions.
tramadol and ultracet contain the same ingredient tramadol. The difference is that ultacet contains 37 mgs of tramadol where tramadol contains 50 mgs of tramadol so tramadol is stronger then ultracet
TRAMADOL
There should be not problem taking tramadol. Demerol is meperidine, and is a narcotic pain medicine. Tramadol is not similar enough to meperidine to trigger a reaction. Remember that tramadol will make you lightheaded and sleepy. Take it just as your doctor ordered and don't take extra.
