- It really depends on how underweight or overweight you are, but generally underweight IS worse than being overweight
- Some people are naturally underweight and have no health complications, but if you're underweight due to unnatural reasons, particularly illness, like an eating disorder, there are EXTREME health complications you can have. Including: Weak Immune System, Low Muscle Mass, Hair loss, Osteoporosis, Anemia, Menstrual Irregularities (Female), and Pregnancy Complications or the inability to conceive (Female).
- So again, the general rule is that overweight is better than being underweight, but again it really depends on who you are and how extreme your condition is.

∙ 13y agoFrom your question I assume you know that both of them are bad. But yes, undereating is worse. If one overeats, at least the brain is sufficient in glucose and can still function. It just doesn't know what to do with the extra glucose. And brain needs glucose and carbohydrates (120g a day) to think.
If one undereats however, the brain has insufficient glucose/carbohydrates and cannot think. So even if he/she tries to get cured by going to the doctor, it will take a much longer time because the brain cannot think at first on where it should put the medication to. An overeater's brain will know to put it to the liver.
