There is one institution called the University of Wales. It has different sites located in Cardiff, Aberystwyth and Bangor etc. The university colleges that make up the University of Wales are Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff, Lampeter and Swansea. As with all universities it depends on what you want to study which is best. Aberystwyth is good for History and Geography but not so hot on languages. Cardiff is better at languages but not so good at History. And of course it depends on where you want to be. If you are a city person, the Aber is NOT for you and Lampeter is definitely not for you! They are all good institutions and older than some. N.B. The university of Glamorgan is not part of the University of Wales, they chose to go it alone in the early 1990s.
