The whole point of being a Muslim and having a life in a world made by Allah is so that Allah could test us. Allah has given us a long life and is testing us on every good and baad things we do. There are representaions of Allah becasue you are supposed get get judged by Allah on judgments day and will be judged on how you have been all you life.

Because according to Islam this life has a purpose, We were created for a purpose.. to worship Allah ( Arabic word for God)Allah the Exalted and Most Honored said,And I created not the Jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone).Surah Adh-Dhariyat Ayah 56meaning, that Allah only created them so that they worship Allah alone, Allah has no need for the creation but the creation needs Allah. The creation was created because life is a test to see which is best in actions and deeds, so in life after death they'll see who will enter paradise or hell according to their faith, deeds, beliefs, actions, intentions, etc..
