This dream suggests that YOU feel regret that your father passed away without being able to enjoy being a grandfather to your children. Another possibility is that the dream expresses your longing to have some form of reconciliation with your father over painful events in your own childhood. Robert Hayden illustrates regret in "Those Winter Sundays" through the speaker's realization of the sacrifices his father made for him despite the lack of gratitude shown at the time.
