On a 98 Nissan 200 sx how do you get behind the firewall to inspect wiper linkage?

You have to remove the black plastic cover on the outside of the car. You may need to remove the wiper's as well to help, the plastic rivets should pop off with a flat screwdriver under them. If they break yo can get replacemnets and Autozone.
