I live in the Southern Hemisphere but in a country where the mare would start coming into season when the daylight hours start getting longer, but I guess in Australia the daylight hours are similar during most seasons? Normally once the breeding season starts the mare will have a cycle of three weeks. About six days in season and then two weeks 'off heat'.
