A recent death in the family? I am just guessing. The French do not use wreaths ( floral, in a sense) or Bells on their Christmas cards- thinking these usages are of morbid symbolism. I cannot agree. However they do use swinging or joyous bells ( always at least two) on New Year"s cards. My guess if their are l2 red and one white- maybe thirteen being unlucky number- a recent death in the family?
