If someone is on an antidepressant prescribed by a doctor, then they should follow the guidelines discussed with their physician.

Fluoxetine has a relatively long half-life of about 1 month, so withdrawal symptoms tend to be less jolting than, say, Paxil which has a half-life of 3 days.

Don't stop taking any medication without the consultation of a Medical Doctor.

Due to my husband losing his health insurance when he lost his job I could not afford to take my Zoloft that my doctor prescribed to me. I have noticed that m PMS is worse, have severe emotional problems because of having to stop taking them all of a sudden. This is why it is important to speak to your doctor about getting weaned off slowly.
