Should you be concerned if you learn the narcissist is sneakily watching you after you have been discarded even though he does not try to contact you?

My ex N does not try to contact me but I know he somehow tries to "spy" on me online. He has a website and I'm sure he thinks I look at it....he wrote on there how he is moving and how he was in a serious motorcycle accident. I know it's all just a ploy to get my attention. Of course I do look but I would never contact him now that I know that he is a narcissist.
AnswerI wouldn't be too concerned about it...One thing about some narcissists..they may discard you, but they want to make sure that you won't become interested in someone else...that takes that supply of attention that you've given them away from them....so they still try to be "in the know" as far as what is going on in your life, to the point of watching you from afar. AnswerI wouldn't be concerned, but it happens to a friend of mine in the online sense on a daily basis. Her Narcissist ex watches her and has people watch her but he never contacts her, and actually has done everything to make it so she can't contact him and he relies on mind games and then ignores her if she speaks, but he would never admit he's watching her. It's odd and I've never seen anything like it and if i hadn't seen it with my own two eyes i wouldn't believe it. I wouldn't be too concerned though. They seem to sit there for no reason other than to hurt you, and they only can if you let them. AnswerI don't think they would discard you then watch you. I don't see why they would. My exN lives in the apartment above me (so much for getting as far away as possible!) and whenever he hears voices in my apartment, the tv goes down for a while like he is listening. If I come in late, I hear him walk through to where I am to see if there is anyone with me. And this is even though he has a new woman! I think it's to see what chances there are of getting the old supply back if it doesn't work out with the new one.Wiki User

If your friend has a child with a narcissist who discarded her and slandered her name then disappeared how can you help her get over the pain and the attachment 2 years after being discarded?
Educate her on narcissism, remind her of how awful he is. I was in a similar boat with my cousin. Her ex N was so terrible that we thought he was a sociopath at first and his attitude was often compared to that of a serial killer. He would laugh at that kind of thoughts on him, but he was truly ill. The utter lack of emotion for things he'd done. He would seem to get off on watching her hurt. We recently found out he's a Narcissist. The more she can learn and apply the symptoms, the easier it will get to move on. Personally, in my situation I would find times in her relationship where he would be mimicking her likes and dislikes and each time I showed her that he WAS constantly saying that everything she says is the same as him and every emotion he had were exaggerated and she soon became more aware. Luckily I had things to compare it to. It's not an easy thing. Her ex sounds like a pathetic human being. He discarded her and disappeared I assume means he also discarded the child and that is disgusting but for a narcissist it really is nothing out of the ordinary. She is better off without this person. Distance herself from everything pertaining to this person. Block him from re-entering her life at a later date, which I have noticed Narcissist's will do.
