I was 6 weeks pregnant and started to experience brown spotting. Everyone told me it was normal (even my doctor's office) in early pregnancy. After 5 days, I went to the ER, basically because I was driving myself crazy not knowing. They did bloodwork and a transvaginal ultrasound (the regular ultrasound didn't show anything). My HcG levels were normal and they saw the ovum ont he ultrasound. They said everything looked fine and told me to come back if it got worse. I continued to spot but was re-assured by what they told me. After 9 days of spotting, I woke up to find red blood. I went back to the ER and proceeded to bleed heavily. they did another ultrasound, more blood work and a vaginal exam. They determined that I was in the process of or starting to have a miscarriage. My advice: when people tell you spotting is "normal", it might be so, but you should get it checked out, especially if it's lasting more than a few days. That said, there is nothing you can do to prevent it. It's a very helpless feeling and frustrating to not have control of your body. Best of luck and hopefully your spotting is normal.

You don't have to worry about spotting. You should worry about a heavy flow. You should also talk to your doctor.

Bright red spotting at 11 weeks of pregnancy?

Call your doctor immedeatley they should be able to fit you in or go to the hospital.
