If she doesn't show affection towards you and makes it apparent she wants to leave him for you, accept it and keep her as a normal friend. Get over her and look for other girls, there's enough. Of course it's still up to you what you really do. By telling her you might even break a certain barrier that will allow your friendship to grow and she might help you with finding your girl. Or of course she could find it too weird hanging out with someone who has a crush on her, however that's rather unlikely I think.

Be kinder to them, just get closer to one then maby her friends. But you have to be brave if your in school sit next to a small group of them, or talk to one a lot. Be sweet to them but not overly sweet. If you already have SOME female friends go out to dinner with them and suggest that they bring some of their friends, and make conversation. That should get some more, if not go to a bar. (Their no so good their though.....)

It depends how close the boyfriend is to the individual. If they have been long time friends then a peck on the cheek and a hug or one or the other is acceptable when the boyfriend arrives and leaves. I am a huggy person myself, but reserve this for male friends we know or old friends we have and this includes my female friends. That's it! There should be no further touching other than perhaps nudging a person in conversation or an arm around their waist or shoulder depending on what the circumstances are. No kissing on the mouth! Flirting is out!
