Independence Hall in Philadelphia Pennsylvania is where both the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were written. It is now the center of the Independence National Historic Park.
It was written in what is now called "Declaration House." Thomas Jefferson rented a second floor space in the house of a bricklayer named Graff at 7th and Market Streets near the outskirts of Philadelphia, because he couldn't work in all the noise in the main part of town. The actual house was demolished in 1883 but was restored based on old photographs by the National Park Service.
The Declaration of Independence is located in the National Archives building at 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW in Washington, DC. The National Archives Building is located between Seventh and Ninth Streets.
The original signed parchment manuscript of the Declaration of Independence is displayed in the rotunda of the National Archives Building in Washington, D.C.
