4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3. Then there was a pilot film made for the TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars that takes place in between Episodes 2 and 3.
Episode IV a new hope Episode V the Empire Strikes Back Episode VI return of the Jedi Episode I the Phantom Menace Episode II Attack of the Clones Episode III revenge of the Sith
Well, yeah, since he created Star Wars and is the owner of Lucasfilms that made the films possible
6 in the main saga, plus the animated Clone Wars film, totaling 7.
Star Wars started out as a comic, and sold over 2 million copies in just the US on just the first day out. After this, George Lucas wanted to make Star Wars into a book. After doing this, Star Wars (the book) sold over 14 million copies in just the US on just the first day. After doing this, George Lucas' friend said "wouldn't it be funny if they made Star Wars into a film?" Lucas was then inspired by this, and did not think of this as a joke, but as a duty, to make Star Wars into a film. Lucas then wrote a script play of Star Wars episode I, A New Hope, episode II The Empire Strikes Back, and episode III, Return of the Jedi all in the year of 1968. Lucas then picked out the best actors o that time, and selected them to be in his Star Wars films. After all three were out in cinemas, Lucas made a total of over billion dollars. Lucas, in 1985, then wrote another three Star Wars Movies, setting them before episode I II, and III. Making episodes I II, III into IV V and VI. And after 16 years of putting the new film together, made episode I II and III. Ending in a result of 6 Star Wars movies. Also, resulting with a world wide number, a sum of 8 billion dollars in total of the whole Star Wars saga put together. Lucas is now looking into making all 6 Star Wars ilms into 3D. And is also looking into making 3 more Star Wars films, set after episode VI.
Because at the very beginning, George Lucas didn't expect Star Wars to be a huge hit and since it was, he then decided to expand the storyline. But since "Episode 1: The Phantom Menace"shows how Anakin Skywalker came to the Jedi Order, it's like the very beginning. So that's why.
I really don't understand what you're trying to say. The first Star Wars movie was originally named "Star Wars." But when the prequel trilogy was being released, the name was then changed to "Episode 4: A New Hope."
No. No more Star Wars films are going to be made.
If we're going by chronological order (not release order): The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith.
Star wars 4, 5, and 6 were directed by George Lucas. All the star wars films were written and screen played by him also. Star Trek was made by J.J Abrams.
No. No more Star Wars films are going to be made
They may get re-edited, but they will not be completely re-made.
The new Star Wars film being made by Disney won't be out until 2015, so there'll still be 6 films (7 if you count the pilot for the TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
I read a long time ago that when George Lucas submitted the idea for Star Wars to Fox, they were not interested in the rights to the merchandise so gave them to Lucas (hence any Star Wars stuff is always branded Lucas Arts or some such). Film merchandise was not really a big thing in the 70s so it was one of the first major films to cash in. From the success of the Star Wars films Lucas went on to create Industrial Light & Magic which created effects for many other films. I understand that Lucas made more from merchandise than the films made for Fox. Shame he got greedy and made Phantom Manace, but that's a whole new story...

It was made when Star Wars (later called Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope) was released in 1977, and continued through the rest of the films through 2005. The next Star Wars trilogy (set in events after Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi) will use the same theme music.
6 in the main saga, plus the animated Clone Wars film, totaling 7.
Yes.But only 1,2,3,4,5,and 6 are films.
Star Wars: A New Hope Released 1977 in movies It was originally just named "Star Wars," but then after the release of the prequel trilogy films, it was then named "Episode 4: A New Hope."
