You can get a special fan stand which you can plug in to the wall or your laptop (I will add a link or two for this in the "Discuss" section) or anything through which air can pass easily.

The fan bases seem to expensive to me, so I suggest you experiment with household items, like rulers and books. This combination doesn't help much, but can be enough. Start out with a non-insolating surface, like a table or a book. Then lay something down along one or two edges of the laptop. This enables air to flow underneath and into the air intake more easily. Make sure that at least one edge (preferably two) are open for air flow.

Be creative! Just avoid anything sharp or wet. Also be careful with cold objects, like ice packs, since they collect condensation.

The best thing to do is to make sure that the computer can breathe. Since laptops have their air intakes on the bottom of their cases, you need to make sure that you use your laptop on a solid surface rather than a soft upholstered chair, carpeting, dining table placemat, clothing, etc. Also, make sure that the exhaust vent on the side of the laptop remains open and unobstructed. What I mean by this is that the vent (usually on the left toward the rear near the LCD panel hinge) must remain free from items blocking it and it must be open for the air to dissipate away, so keep objects at least four to six inches away from the vent. Otherwise the heat will not flow away from the computer adequately and could cause an overheat condition.

To help keep your machine cooler, there are devices called notebook coolers that are essentially devices on which your laptop sits that has fans inside it and that are powered through a USB port on the laptop. These are not very expensive, often costing as little as $30-40 but can be more costly if you elect to get one that is larger, has LED fans, or is otherwise more than just a simple bank of fans. They are quite effective but just like I said above with the bottom of the machine, if you are using a notebook cooler, you must keep it operating on a solid surface as well or else you are going to burn out the fans by not allowing them to get the air they need.

How can you cool down your laptop?

Make sure your laptop is free from dust and that your fans are working properly. Put fan on your laptop.or use it in air condition.Do not put laptop on the bed and use it. Dust your laptop every 3 days.If you are using it on the table, make sure to place a small object like halve an inch under the notebook infront. The reason is to allow ample air to blow under it.

What is an easy way to cool down?

One way to cool down fast is to put a ice pack in the fridge or freezer, [freezer works best on a really hot day,] and wait a while, then take it out and put it somewhere on your face, or right under neath your palms so that the blood gets cold throughout your body and then you can cool down. Or, you can stand in front of a fan or even better, turn on the air condition.
