Labs usually stop the majority of their growing by the time they reach one year old. During this time it is very important that you are feeding your dog a puppy chow formula food. This kind of food has a lot of nutrients that growing puppies need to insure a good development. It also contains more calories than regular food to support their active lifestyle. After one year, the dogs growth will slow down a lot but it will continue to grow till it hits about 2 years old.

They slow down their growth at a year old, but they continue to grow untill they are four years. After a year old, though, the growth becomes so little and gradual that it's hard to notice unless you are taking measurements every other month.
