I cannot post all of the breeds in this answer, certainly not all 950 of them, but I will write out a few of the most common ones and their characteristics.

There are three main types: British, Continental, and Exotic. Of these, there are two types: Purebred and Commercial. So in all you could say there are five types of beef cattle.

No. Cattle include cows, which are mature female bovines. "Cattle" is a plural term encapsulating all types of bovine animals, from cows and heifers to calves and bulls to steers.
A cow that is specifically used by farmers for producing milk that they sell. Dairy farming is just one type of cattle farming. Different types of farmers use different types of cattle for their farms.
Cows ARE cattle. Any number of cows can make a herd of cattle, so long the number is two or greater.
