Customs are various traditions or social mores which are passed from generation to generation. They compose the very social infrastructure for human actions and interactions by which we live our lives and decide what is important in our lives. Over the years customs will evolve and change. This is how societies progress and reshape themselves over time.

These are some examples of various customs across cultures;

In America:

Birthdays are marked with parties and cake.

We drive on the right side of the road.

We grill on the 4th of July.

We bury our deceased in coffins marked with gravestones.

In Japan:

Greetings are given in the form of bows.

Shoes are never worn inside a house, or significant space.

You do not have eye contact with your elders during a conversation.

Tables are low to the ground and you sit on a pillow on the floor during meals.

In context with placing this question in the spirituality genre we can utilize the same ideal with religions or beliefs.

For example:

In Protestant Christianity:

Church is on Sundays mostly, and sometimes Wednesdays.

Jesus Christ is the messiah, and no others are divine.

Tithing 10%

For the most part, Circumcision shortly after birth.

In Catholicism:

Confessional with a priest.

Infant Baptism

Sometimes mass is given in Latin
